To manage IoT service traffics is challenges for Telecoms, because traffics form several IoT devices does not behave monolithic. Actually, KDDI faced receiving abnormally traffics that were different behaviour, not like smartphone's traffics, from IoT devices. How to tackle to manage the complex IoT service traffics? Our approach is to adopt to combine Edge computing and Network slicing technologies to Fault Management(FM).

I started internal project that purpose is to dispose IoT service abnormal traffics using two approaches. (1) FM with Edge Computing, the purpose is stopping to send abnormal traffics to core network. We use NATS and collectd. (2) FM with NW Slicing, dividing abnormal traffics to a NW slice for isolation. We use open source EPC, prometheus, collectd and OPNFV.
In this presentation, I will share the above evaluations and experiences.
