The global communication network that connects people and devices with each other is the most complex system on the face of our planet. This network continues to undergo a massive transformation from hardware to software, and from being reactive to being proactive. Over the next decade, the industry will launch a new generation of this network - the autonomous network. During this panel, co-authors of the book Artificial Intelligence for Autonomous Networks will explore the opportunities, applications and complexity of integrating networking and access technologies with AI. The discussion will touch on the role of AI in networking, the shift towards software-defined networking and software-defined radio access networking with open source and the role of the autonomous network in supporting next-generation services such as smart homes, smart factories, and autonomous cars and drones.
