This presentation outlines the growing importance of open source to the telecommunication industry and shows the transition to the world of open source and what is needed to for open source to be successful. It will focus on automation and the value of ONAP project as the common platform of carrier network automation and digitalized operation. We will also cover the innovation and cooperation of Orange and Huawei to enhance the features, architecture and capabilities of ONAP platform to design and deploy SDWAN.

We will cover first the introduction of SD WAN as an alternative and complement to MPLS to deliver VPN services, opening the door to on demand models. Secondly, we will explain the role of ONAP to fully automate the design and run time process.
